El Chicote, in The Sabana, has maintained unharmed from time’s pace. Its decoration, attention and most of the recipes from the menu still keep at the height of its well earned prestige.
Of the Chicote’s origins only the real old ones may remember. This place seems like it has always been there, when La Sabana was the city limit back in the 70’s it was mandatory for the young people to say that they had danced in Barroco or that they have had a few cocktails in Celis.
Today, the disco and bar are gone, but the restaurant remains as sober and comfortable as always.  It doesn’t overflow in luxuries and its discreet decoration would pass by unnoticed except for the impressive art collection that hangs off its walls.  It certainly makes for a delightful meal to be surrounded by works of art from well distinguished national artists.
The restaurant has a wide variety of wines from over a dozen countries with some of the most renowned name brands at affordable prices.  The most remarkable aspect of the visit was the excellent service, with well informed courteous waiters, always ready to serve with out overwhelming the customer.
